Improve Your Paintball Aim
Paintball is a game that requires many skills, among them speed, agility and a knack for hiding. Arguably, however, the most important skill in this fast-paced game is the ability to aim. There are several things you can do to improve your aim in paintball, such as practice drills, purchasing special equipment and more.
Since paintball is both a physical sport and a skill competition, regular practice is the single most important thing you can do to improve your aim. Perform careful target practice at varying distances as well as with both still targets and moving ones. Plan sessions several times a week and in all conditions (light, dark, rain and so on) for the best results. Firing test shots helps you adjust your aim according to wind and other conditions.
Buying your own paintball gun is another important step, because it allows you to learn and practice with the same equipment every time. Investing in a sight for your paintball gun is another option. Sights improve long-range aim by helping you focus and giving you a clear reference point by which to line up your shots.
Even if you are a casual paintball enthusiast, improving your aim will improve your game. Personal equipment, practice drills and test shots are your best avenues to improvement.

We started playing paintball many years ago with our sons, and they still play quite a bit now. Aiming with these guns is different than aiming a regular gun. Every paintball gun is also aimed differently, depending on its weight and the barrel length. My boys practice hitting targets from many different distances, shooting from the shoulder and from the hip, and laying on the ground and hiding behind objects. Each of these affect how someone will aim the gun, and practicing is key. They also play in inclement weather, so they practice in the rain and snow also. - Whitney on 3/23/2012
